Author Peter Brune presents the World War Two Papua New Guinea Campaign of 1942 and 1943. Peter will highlight the critical but less well known battles such as Milne Bay, where Australian soldiers and pilots gave the Japanese their first land defeat; and Buna-Gona-Sanananda beachheads, where significant Australian lives were lost for little tactical advantage. Also hear about the troops and commanders who defended Australia and the men who recorded it. Parking available. Bookings required for this event.
