Johnny's story

A simple but innovative digital storytelling display about Johnny Marchioro's memories of growing up in 1940s Kidman Park in an Italian migrant family who produced vegetables for the East End Market. Madeleine's videoed oral history is divided into 4 sections. Visitors can access the stories via a simple touch screen display. I liked Johnny's poignant memories of when his father was sent to Alice Springs during the war because he was an "alien" and his mother telling him to look up at the stars and remember your dad will be looking up at the same stars. Touching. A great example of a good oral history.
